Allen Dalton Irwin
July 15,1947 – June 15, 2025
With heavy hearts but with gratitude for the life he lived we announce the passing of Allen Dalton Irwin, lovingly known as “Uncle Al” who went home to be with the Lord on June 15, 2025, in Memphis, Tennessee, at the age of 77.
Al lived a life full of laughter, love, and deep faith. He proudly served his country and was a Navy veteran. He carried a strong work ethic through his many years as a long-haul truck driver and heavy equipment operator, and most importantly, trusted God to guide him through every season of life. His faith was not something he spoke about often, but it was evident in how he lived steady, kind, forgiving, and always believing that God was in control.
Al had a gift for not taking life too seriously. He loved to joke and keep things light, reminding everyone that life was too short not to enjoy the ride.
When he wasn’t working, Al found peace in the outdoors. He loved fishing and spending time in nature, whether the fish were biting or not. For him sitting by the water was his way of feeling close to God’s creation. Al was also avid fan of SEC and NFL football. During football season you would find him in his recliner watching every play of the game.
Al’s greatest joy was his family. He is survived by his son, Justin Mark Irwin, and daughter-in-law, Amy; his grandchildren, Peyton Easley and Presley Easley; and his great-grandson, Benjamin Easley. Nephew Marty Irwin (Jade) Nieces Chelsey Duellman (Eric) Samantha Dees (Isaac) and a brother Steve Erwin. A chosen son & grandson Heath & Luke Chaney. Al was preceded in death by his parents Herman & Verna Mae Irwin and Brother Brad Irwin (Jan)
Though we will miss his presence, his laughter, and his stories, we rejoice in knowing that Al is now at peace, reunited with loved ones, and resting in the presence of his Savior. His legacy of faith, love, and joy lives on in the hearts of his family and all who were blessed to know him.
