Alan Gerald Christoffels passed away peacefully in his home, with the love of his life by his side, on March 24, 2025. Born on June 28, 1941, in Lebanon, Pennsylvania, Alan’s journey through life was marked by his honesty, hard working nature, craftsmanship, and a faith-filled heart.
A man of great creativity and love for his family, Alan was not only proficient in his trade as an expert welder, he was also a true artist when it came to working with his hands. He spent countless hours in his workshop, where he found joy in building anything from furniture to jewelry boxes, and he was always ready to design and craft whatever his loved ones requested. His skills were a testament to his ability to see the beauty in raw materials and transform them into cherished heirlooms.
Beyond his workbench, Alan’s interests extended to the camaraderie and adventure found in a shooting club, where he was fondly known by his cowboy moniker, “Fred Waite.” There, he relived the cowboy days, sharing laughter and stories with friends who shared his enthusiasm.
Alan’s legacy is lovingly carried on by his devoted wife, Barbara, and their children, Roger, Cathy, and Julie. Alan’s role as a grandfather was one he cherished deeply, and his grandchildren, Jessica, Kimberly, Westley, Madison, Nicholas, and Amanda, will hold onto the memories of their time together with fondness. His great-grandchildren, Avery, Taylor, Logan, and Olivia, although young, will grow up knowing the great man their great-grandfather was through the stories and heirlooms he has left behind. His sisters’ Lucille and Diane hold fond memories of his ingenuity and love of his family.
Alan’s life was a portrait of the values he held dear. His intelligence shone through in his problem-solving abilities, whether he was fixing a mechanical issue or offering wise advice to those who sought it. His handiness was evident not only in his professional life but also in the countless ways he improved the lives of those around him. Above all, his honesty made those around him strive to be better people. His faith-filled nature was the cornerstone of his existence, providing him with strength and comfort throughout his life and during his battle with leukemia.
As we say farewell to Alan, we celebrate a life well-lived, marked by dedication to family, a passion for craftsmanship, and a spirit of generosity. His memory will continue to inspire and guide us, and his presence will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Alan’s story does not end with his passing but lives on in the hearts of those who had the honor of knowing him. We take solace in knowing that his pain is no more, and his spirit is free, leaving us with a treasure trove of memories and the legacy of a life marked by love, hard work, and faith.
In remembrance of Alan Gerald Christoffels, we honor the remarkable man he was and the permanent mark he has left on our hearts. His journey on earth has concluded, but the memories of his subtle sense of humor, quick wit, and the wisdom of his words will remain with us forever. Rest in peace, dear Alan, until we meet again.
