For over 30 years, Wilfred and Mark Watterson were considered the most important and respected citizens of the Eastern Sierra.
Owners of five banks, and many businesses, the Wattersons were also the de facto leaders of the people of Inyo County in their opposition to the City of Los Angeles and their heavy-handed water policies.
And just like a horrible Greek tragedy, the lives of the Wattersons, and thousands of their friends and neighbors, came crashing down in a scandal of fraud and deception.
Using extensive research and rare photographs, local authors David & Gayle Woodruff examine this calamity of trust, friendship and sham in a 55-minute slideshow.
