Alexander Jacob Gensler “AJ”, 32, of Hiawatha Iowa, passed away on June 17, 2024. He was born on December 24, 1991, in Sioux City, Iowa.

AJ was a beloved son, brother and friend. He is survived by his mother Ronda Gensler (Steve Malcom) of Dakota City, Nebraska, and his father, Michael Gensler (Tracy Gensler) of La Porte City, Iowa. AJ is also survived by 3 siblings, sister Jenifer Crowley (Brandon Crowley) of Shellsburg, Iowa and his brothers Anthony Gensler (Mattie Chapman) of Granger, Iowa and Joshua Gensler of Dakota City, Nebraska. He is remembered fondly by his two nieces, Tara and Kala Crowley and two nephews, Jake and Levi Crowley. AJ is also survived by his grandparents, Larry and Patricia Malcom of Allen, Nebraska, Lee Wartman of Alliance, Nebraska, Robert and Shirley Grathwohl of Ames, Iowa. AJ is proceeded in death by many loved ones.

AJ attended Cedar Rapids schools for his primary education and later attended Alburnett High School. He pursued a career as a mechanic, a profession he was passionate about. In his free time AJ enjoyed working on vehicles, spending time with his dogs and cherished moments with his friends. AJ had a smile that could light up any room and an appetite for adventure. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him. In lieu of flowers please make a donation to Cedar Valley Humane Society in AJ’s name.

A visitation celebrating AJ’s life will be held on Thursday June 27, 2024, from 3:00-7:00 pm at the Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home.
