Patricia was born April 9, 1946, in Kansas City, Kansas, the daughter of Thomas and Penelope (Coulter) Denny. Pat and Gary met on a blind date in November and married on February 17, 1968 in Springfield, Missouri. Pat and Gary raised their sons in Clarinda where she was an in-home daycare provider and later an assistant teacher at the local preschool until she retired. She was a faithful member of the Clarinda First Christian Disciples of Christ Church. She was a beloved and loyal friend that loved to laugh and have a good time with her girlfriends. In 2017, Pat and Gary made the move to Cedar Rapids to be closer to grandchildren. She made many friends in the community in the short time they were in Eastern Iowa. She became a member of the Noelridge Christian Church during her time in Cedar Rapids and served on the board of her condo community’s HOA. One of her favorite things to do in her last decade was watch her grandchildren’s many activities. She also loved playing games and cards with her family. Her smile and laugh will be missed by all whose hearts she touched.

Survivors include her loving husband of 56 years, Gary, her sons, Brian (Kate) Hopper of Robins, Iowa, and Tim (Hayley) Hopper of Byron, Illinois, her grandchildren, Matthew Hopper, Benjamin Hopper, Ava Hopper and Wyatt Hopper. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Michael Denny.

In lieu of flowers, Pat had requested that friends and family make donations to a favorite charity or organization of their choice or use your time, talent or treasure to brighten the days of the people in the world around you.
