Jean Marie Reno

Jean Marie Reno, 52, of New Berlin, died at 10:04 am, Wednesday, January 20, 2021 at Memorial Medical Center. She was born October 25, 1968 in Springfield to Frederick Harry and Rita Ann (Harlow) Greenwald. She married Jeff D. Reno on October 23, 1993 at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception.
She is survived by her husband, Jeff; parents, Fred and Rita Greenwald, and father-in-law, Dee Reno, all of Springfield; six siblings: Mary (Tom) Cartwright of Gahanna, OH; Mark S. (Terri) Greenwald of Springfield; John P. (Natalie) Greenwald of Peoria, IL; Margaret M. (Mark) DeTardo of Fleming Island, FL; Peter T. (Anne) Greenwald of Midlothian, VA; and James J. Greenwald, DDS of Springfield; She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews: Elizabeth Cartwright; Catherine Cartwright; Christopher (Kara) Greenwald and their children, Abby and Maddie; Lynde Greenwald and her daughter, Aubrey; Matt (Mariah) Hatcher and their daughter, Bella; John (Lexi) Embry and their children, Stella, Jacob, Harrison and Eli; Teresa Greenwald; Jane Greenwald; Steven DeTardo; Laura DeTardo; Katie DeTardo; Katrina (Chris) Hadnot and their children, Sydney, Aubrey and Olivia; Nathaniel Greenwald; Molly Greenwald; Jackie Greenwald and numerous cousins.
She was preceded in death by one infant brother, Patrick, her grandparents, Ray and Ann (Engeldinger) Harlow and Alfred and Viola (Broeker) Greenwald, and mother-in-law Nellie (Gentry) Reno.
Jean graduated from the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception (1982), Sacred Heart Academy (1986) and Springfield College in Illinois (1988).
Jean enjoyed sports (especially broomball, softball and soccer); traveling to Michigan; and celebrating Halloween. She was also known among her friends and family for her wonderful sense of humor and her dedication to her parents. They called her their guardian angel.
Jean was employed by the City of Springfield for many years, most recently in the lake property management division of CWLP.
A private funeral mass will be held at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception. Live Stream link can be found at StaabObituary.com.
