Elizabeth M. Hildinger

Elizabeth M. Hildinger, 99, of Trenton, FL formerly of Illinois died Sunday, June 5, 2022 at her home. She was born on July 10, 1922 in Kansas City, KS to Percy and Bernice (Hofmann) Dietrich. She married Paul D. Riley and he preceded her in death.

Also preceding her in death are one son, Paul Hildinger; one brother, Jim Dietrich, and one sister, Dorothy Rice.

She is survived by two sons, Fred Hildinger of Trenton, FL and George Hildinger of Cape Coral, FL; three granddaughters, Jennifer (Darin) Kolbe, Cary Sabelfeldt (fiance’ Justin) and Shawn Kunz; six great grandchildren, Ashley, Dean, Eden, Gabriel, Casey, and Cameron; two brothers, John (Kathe) Hall Washington and Bob (Nancy) Hofmann of Colorado and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Elizabeth was a member of Christ Episcopal Church. She enjoyed sewing and cooking.

She was a former resident of Springfield and Arlington Heights. She retired as a librarian and had worked for several libraries in Springfield as well as libraries in Northbrook, Evanston, Arlington Heights and Mt. Prospect, and Campbell-Mithun in Chicago as the Head Research librarian in downtown Chicago.

A graveside service will be held at Oak Ridge Cemetery at 11:00 am, Thursday, June 15, 2022 with Reverend Dr. Gregory Tournoux officiating.
