Keturah Wagner

Keturah “Kitty” E. Wagner, 91, died peacefully March 7, 2022 at the Waterford in Mansfield, Ohio.

She was born to the late Clarence and Elizabeth Sniffen, on December 9, 1930. She was raised in Nassau County, Long Island, New York and graduated from Lawrence High School in Cedarhurst. When growing up, her favorite vacation was Lake George, New York. She fondly spoke of this often.

After her first retirement as a real estate agent, she was a devoted stay at home homemaker before taking up another career as Frame/Art manager. She had extensive knowledge and a critical eye for fine art that started from her upbringing and travels to New York City. She was also a master cook and had a special recipe for her luscious lemon cake that could never be duplicated.

Kitty and her late husband Dallas, lived in Shelby for ten years before relocating to Ontario, Ohio. They traveled extensively first with their Avion Travel Trailer and later with a Fleetwood RV. They were long time members of the Avion Travel Club and built many close friendships who became their RV family. They enjoyed a long retirement filled with RV camping and Avion friends at their permanent home in Ohio and at their winter home in Florida.

She was a fiercely independent woman who held fast to her beliefs. She enjoyed bible study with friends and family celebrations during the holidays. Everyone was proud of her mid-life accomplishment to completely stop smoking, which helped her age gracefully.

She is survived by three children; Stuart (Belinda) Pressey, Allegra (Roger) Andersen, and Chris (Beverly) Pressey; stepchildren, Brenda (Dr. Randall) Sloan, Kathe Wagner (Gerald) McGinnis and Diedre Hutchinson. She is also survived by her cherished grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

We will miss Kitty. May she be at peace on the shores of Lake George during the morning sun.

Friends may visit on Friday, March 11, 2022, from 10:00-11:00 a.m. the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 100 S. Lexington-Springmill Rd. A funeral service will follow at 11:00 a.m. Burial will take place at Mansfield Memorial Park.
