Anita Louise Thomas

Anita Louise Thomas, 74, of Flat Rock died Tuesday, January 18, 2022 at her home.  She was making her famous Southern Sweet tea, getting ready to watch church service when the Lord called her home to the ULTIMATE WORSHIP!

She was the daughter of the late Harley Cox and Clyde & Mary Elizabeth Thomas.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ronald C. Thomas; brothers, Harley Cox, Jr aka “Billy” and Mark Thomas; and sister, Lucy Ann Cox.

Anita is survived by her sister, Margie “Gigi” Devine (Robert); brothers, Wayne Thomas (Debbie), William Thomas, and Rick Thomas; children, Marty Thomas (Ginger), Mary Blackwell (Lane), Stacey Thomas (Meloney), Tina Connor (Haskell); grandchildren, Adam Blackwell (Stephanie), Skye Pressley (Donald), Camryn (Brandon Gee), Tekoa (Caleb Short), Jade, Mekenzie (Shawn Sellers), Mason, Halle, and Bryce; great-grandchildren, Brody, Scarlett-Mae, Charlee, and Peyton Scoutt; special nephews and nieces, Robbie Devine and Stephanie, Brayden Clark and Alyssa Rose; best friends, her precious dog, Baby and Larry and Wanda Hoots, 35 years of friendship; and special cousin, Bonnie Rhodes.

Today we grieve because our beloved Mother, Sister, Meme, and Friend left us but know with certainty that she is rejoicing in Heaven as she is welcomed home by our Savior. She loved the Lord and was kind to everyone. Her sister Gigi & her had a special bond. Gigi was her caregiver, best friend, roommate, sister, & hero. Bob was her personal chef, nurse and football buddy, she said they were 3’s Company. Robbie said, “She was as Fearless in her faith as she was in God.” She was a member of Upward Christian Fellowship.

She enjoyed every moment with her grandchildren and played a huge role in each of their raising. She loved her Mason and would sit next to him for hours watching him play video games. These memories that we cherish with her, will stand the test of time.
