Teresa L. Lewis, 71, of New London, MO, passed away at 1:51 AM, Monday, September 1, 2025, at Hannibal Regional Hospital in Hannibal, MO.

A Memorial Service will be at 2:00 PM, Friday, September 5, 2025, at James O’Donnell Funeral Home in Hannibal, MO.

Friends and Family are invited to Teresa’s Life Celebration at a visitation that will be from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM, Friday, at the funeral home.

Arrangements for cremation are under the direction of the James O’Donnell Funeral Home in Hannibal, MO.

Teresa was born July 24, 1954, in Hannibal, MO to Melvin Leon Jacobs and Neva Alberta Britton Jacobs.

Survivors include her daughter, Stephanie Rule (Ben) of New London, MO; one brother, Danny Jacobs (Rhonda) of Holts Summit, MO; two sisters, Sheila Hayden of Jefferson City, MO, and Donna Phelps (Ronald) of Shelbyville, MO; three grandchildren, Ben Rule Jr., Nick Rule, and Vada Rule; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Teresa was preceded in death by parents; two brothers, Kenneth Jacobs and Gary Jacobs; and one sister, Sandra Roach.

Teresa began her working career at the candy factory in Hannibal, Rival Manufacturing and as a desk clerk at Mark Twain Hotel. She later became a beautician working for several area salons and later owned and operated her own beauty shop.

In her younger years, Teresa had a passion for music. She enjoyed singing and playing the guitar. Teresa’s taste for the sweeter things in life extended beyond her musical talents. She always looked forward to an ice-cold glass of Milo’s Sweet Tea or Coca-Cola, beverages she considered to be among life’s most delightful refreshments. Above all, Teresa’s heart belonged to her family and grandchildren. Each milestone, each achievement, and each ordinary moment shared with her family was treasured as a precious gem, adding to the wealth of memories that they will hold dear forever. Teresa will be deeply missed.
