Kendra C. Erickson, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and sister, passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, in Scottsdale, Arizona, on September 8, 2025. Born on August 21, 1944, in Boca Raton, Florida, Kendra grew up in Denver, Colorado, where she graduated from George Washington High School and later earned a degree in Anthropology from the University of Colorado Boulder.
Kendra built a successful career as a travel agent, sharing her zeal for adventure with clients and inspiring them to explore the world. A passionate traveler herself, she delighted in discovering new cultures and cuisines. At home, she was equally adventurous in the kitchen—an amazing cook who loved making meals for her family and putting together her annual Christmas – her favorite holiday – spread.
Kendra (“KK”) is survived by her doting husband, Rick Knapp (“The Knapper”); her daughters, Britta Erickson and Chelsea Erickson; her cherished grandson, Jackson Turner, and his father, Richard Turner; and her sister, Michele Tuttle, and Michele’s husband, Mearl Webb. She was preceded in death by her beloved Golden Retrievers, Calypso and Tyrone, who brought her great joy.
Kendra and Rick built a life together in Denver, Colorado, before moving to Bedminster, New Jersey, and later settling in Scottsdale. There, they became active members of Pinnacle Peak Country Club, enjoying the fellowship of a tight-knit community of dear friends, and eventually made their home in Pinnacle Peak Estates.
Kendra was also a passionate “Parrot Head” who knew every lyric to every Jimmy Buffett song ever written. His carefree spirit and storytelling mirrored her own zest for life. She treasured time with family and friends above all, creating memories that will last forever.
A celebration of Kendra’s life will be held at a later date in Scottsdale, where family and friends will gather to honor her memory—and raise a glass of Cabernet in her name.
In lieu of flowers, the family encourages donations to goldenretrieverfoundation.org in Kendra’s memory.
