Althea Hegenauer, a longtime resident of Bronxville, passed away peacefully on August 17, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of warmth, kindness, and quiet strength. She was the devoted wife of Charles Hegenauer, who stood by her side with unwavering love. Althea is also survived by her cherished sister, Germaine Alonso. She was predeceased by her beloved parents, Joseph Anthony Alonso and Katherine Theresa Stevens.

Althea spent many years serving the community as a dedicated dental hygienist, working with care and compassion in the office of Dr. Panzer in Yonkers. She took pride in her work and was known for her gentle manner and professionalism, earning the trust and appreciation of countless patients.

Beyond her career, Althea found joy in the simple pleasures of life. She had a true passion for cooking and delighted in preparing meals that brought family and friends together. She was also an avid fan of classic films, often captivated by the timeless charm of old movies—especially her favorite, Enchanted. One of her happiest places was the sunny shores of Wildwood, New Jersey, a vacation spot she held dear and returned to often.

Althea will be remembered for her grace, her thoughtful nature, and the quiet joy she brought to those who knew her. She leaves behind a lasting impression on all whose lives she touched.
