Laura Mosny

Laura Anne Mosny, 61, of Palm Harbor, passed on August 1, 2025.

Laura was originally from Darby, Pennsylvania but relocated to Florida in 1975. She proudly enlisted in the United States Air Force in 1982 as an Administration Technician. She was stationed at Hessisch Oldendorf Germany until 1984, then served at MacDill Air Force Base until 1989. After serving her country, Laura worked in the Administration Office at Berkeley Preparatory School. She retired in 2022 after over 26 notable years working with her fabulous team at Berkeley.

Laura married the love of her life, Denny, in 2008 and lived her best years with him by her side, traveling, hosting parties and enjoying get-togethers as often as possible. Laura had a zest for life and doing for others. Always a gracious hostess, she loved entertaining and ensured there was enough food to feed an army. She thoroughly enjoyed cooking and baking keeping her famous, favorite recipes in her personalized cookbook. Everyone knew her as a reliable, dependable person who would do anything for anyone. Moreover, you would never hear her complain and she never had a bad word to say about anyone. On her birthday, you could always find her at the Fenway Hotel Rooftop Bar with her very dear best friend, Jolene, inviting everyone nearby to join them. She was most definitely a bright light in the lives of all who knew her. She had an insatiable love for all of God’s creatures; not only did she have her atrium of fish and turtles, but she kept the neighborhood animals alive feeding all the birds, squirrels and even raccoons every day. Most dear to her was her cat, Schmoo, who Denny and Laura took in after finding him homeless. Above all else, she had a fondness and adoration for her family and friends who fiercely loved her in return.

Laura will be lovingly remembered by her bonus children, Michael, Daniel (Stephanie) and Marisa (Chad); six sisters, Kathy, Kelly, Brianna, Mary, Elizabeth and Sarah; brother, Patrick; six grandchildren, Dane, Evan, Landon, Kyler, Reese and Channing; aunt, cousins, nieces and nephews; her dearest, best friend, Jolene and her goddaughter Yvonne Arnold Schaab and many other close friends.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Dennis (Denny) M. Mosny; her father, Elwin B. Clark Jr; and her mother, Janet Cunnison.

A gathering of family and friends will be held at 1:00 p.m., with a memorial service at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 23, 2025 at Curlew Hills Funeral Home.

In honor of Laura, you’re welcome to give a memorial gift to any of the following organizations: Rescue Pink, Suncoast Hospice, or the charity of your choice.
