James M. “Jimmy” Call Jr., age 66, of Delaware passed away Friday, August 8, 2025, at home surrounded by his family.
He was born in Delaware on July 23, 1959, to the late James M. Call Sr. and Patricia L. (Wells) Disbennett. James was a 1978 graduate of Delaware Hayes High School, where he was a member of the football and baseball team.
He retired from Honda of America in Marysville, where he worked as a welder and associate for over 33 years. An outdoorsman at heart, he had a passion for bass fishing and hunting. He also enjoyed working on his boat, which he was very proud of as well as taking care of his home. Jim was a huge Cincinnati Bengals and Ohio State Buckeyes fan. He loved his Harley Davidson motorcycle and riding dirt bikes.
Both loyal and loving with a caring heart, he would go out of his way to help anyone in need. Knowledgeable in many areas, he was determined and strong willed. Hardworking, kind and generous, he made the most out of his retirement. Simply put, he was an all-around great guy who will be dearly missed.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 27 years, D. Lynn Call, children: Jessie (Nora) Kouns, Jennifer Call, Timothy (Emily) Call, Jessica (Mathew) Smith, and Chris Armbruster; 6 grandchildren: Anthony Woodruff, Jennica Call-Marcum, Layla Call-Marcum, Averie Call-Pierce, Korgan Smith, Kilynn Smith, his mother Patricia Disbennett, brothers Tony Call and Brandon Disbennett, and his beloved dog Zoey.
He was also preceded in death by his father James M. Call Sr. and brother Timothy Call.
