The 12th Carson City Kiwanis Pancreatic Cancer Awareness Day will be held at Silver Oak Golf Course on Saturday, August 16.
The golf tournament portions begin at 8 a.m. The golf tournament will be a four-person scramble with many divisions. Applications are available at the Silver Oak Pro Shop, the Blue Zone sporting goods store, Westside Pour House and the Feisty Goat. This event fills up every year, so don’t wait.
Also, the Carson City Bench Press Championships will be held between 7 a.m. and 9 a.m., on the Silver Oak Patio. There will be many age groups. Entry fee is $10 for three (3) lifts.
Finally, this year’s guest of honor is Carlos Mendeguia, who was Carson High School’s Athlete of the Year in 1988. He’s been inducted into the Carson High School Football Hall of Fame and was a successful basketball and softball coach at CHS and also has a well respected landscaping business.
Come and have a fun day for a worthy cause. For information contact Robey Willis at (775) 882-8587.
