Carolann Tomschin

A Celebration of Life Visitation for Carol Tomschin, age 78, of rural Bingham Lake, will be held at the LaCanne Family Celebration of Life Center in Windom on Saturday, June 28th from 2 to 5 PM.

Carol Tomschin passed away peacefully on June 17th, at her home in rural Bingham Lake.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred in Carol’s name to your favorite animal shelter.

Carolann (Schinzel) Tomschin was born on October 1, 1946, in Brooklyn, New York, to Charles and Edna (Varade) Schinzel. She grew up in Brooklyn and graduated from high school in 1964 in Long Island, New York. Carol loved animals, especially her beloved dog, who sat faithfully by her side.

In 1974, Carol moved to California and she and Bob Tomschin were wed in Tahoe, California and lived there for twenty years. Carol worked in secretarial roles at Bank of American and Ethanol 2000. After relocating to Windom in 1994, Carol worked at Higley Ford and the Good Samaritan Society until her retirement in October 2020.

On Tuesday, June 16, 2025, Carol passed away at her home in Bingham Lake, MN.

Carol is survived by her husband, Bob Tomschin of Bingham Lake; stepchildren, Loren Tomschin and Dianna McDaniel; siblings, Jan (Bob) Bokelmann of San Jose, CA and Steve (Cathy) Schinzel of Joice, IA; sisters-in-law, Marge Hoppner of Willits, CA, Sheila (Walt) Tomschin of Georgetown, TX, and Cheri (Mike) Tomschin of Springfield.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Edna Schninzel, and her in-laws, Walter and Margaret Tomschin.
