Arthur Reistad Sr.

Arthur Clifford Reistad Sr., 94, of Bemidji, MN died Thursday, June 5, 2025, at the Sanford Bemidji Medical Center.

Committal Services will be held at 10:00 am, Thursday, July 24, 2025, at the Forest Hill Cemetery in International Falls, MN. Arrangements are with the Cease Family Funeral Home in Bemidji.

He was born on December 14, 1930, in Edmore, ND, the son of Christ and Clara (Braaten) Reistad. At the age of 11 his family moved to International Falls. He obtained his pilot’s license at the age of 16, he loved to fly and worked as a pilot before he graduated from International Falls High School in 1949. He enlisted in the US Air Force in 1950 and served until being Honorably Discharged in 1954. He returned to International Falls and began work for Boise Cascade Paper. He was a member of the Civil Air Patrol, and a flight instructor. He worked for Boise Cascade for 42 years until his retirement in 1992. After retiring he moved to Bemidji, MN, where he was a member of Bethel Lutheran Church, and a volunteer at the Bemidji Hospital for 14 years. The family would like to thank the staff of the Minnesota Veteran’s Home of Bemidji for the excellent care they gave Arthur during his time there.

He is survived by his children, Arthur (Sharon) Reistad Jr., Kristin Grace, Korin (Robert) Rosnow, and Karin Reistad; grandchildren, Jeffrey (Beth), Crystal (Troy), James (Lisa), Christian (Nicole), Kyle, Jory (Carolyn), and Andrew (Jenna); several great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews, and God-daughter, Linda (Eldon) Zahn.

He was preceded in death by his: parents, his sisters Elsie, Caroline, Joyce, and great-granddaughter Paige Baker.

In lieu of flowers memorials are preferred to the Minnesota Veteran’s Home of Bemidji, or the Sanford Bemidji Petal Program.

Arrangements are with the Cease Family Funeral Home in Bemidji.
