February 17, 1930 – June 11, 2025
It is with great sadness that the family of Elizabeth Oulton announce her passing on June 11, 2025, at the Drayton Valley Hospital and Care Centre, Alberta. Beth was 95 years old, and the family find comfort in knowing she lived a very full life and she is now at rest.
Beth will be fondly remembered and cherished by her children, Betty (Harry), Linda, Kathy (Bob) and Carol (Lindsay) as well as her living legacy of 9 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren and 11 great great grandchildren.
Beth was predeceased by her husband Leslie Oulton; son Stan; grandsons Leslie and Darren; great grandson Kane and her son-in-law Ray. Beth was also predeceased by her parents, David and Helen Felker and 14 brothers and sisters.
Beth owned her own business in Leduc and then settled back in the Violet Grove area in 1977, when she bought Violet Grove General Store. In 1990 she decided to close the business and retire. She did extensive renovations to the store, making it a very nice home with beautiful flowers all around. Along with her love for gardening, Beth was very active pursuing her hobbies of sewing, quilting, crocheting and of course her greenhouse and flower gardens. But the greatest work of her heart and hands was always her family and enjoying the company of her children and all her grandchildren.
With deep appreciation, the family would like to express their thanks for Dr. Murphy and all the Long-Term Care staff from 2013 right up to June of 2025.it is in this spirit of gratitude that the family would ask that in lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in Beth’s name to Long Term Care, 4550 Madsen Avenue, Drayton Valley, Alberta T7A 1N8.
No formal service will be held, but a private interment will be held by the family at a later date.
