Robert J. McKelvey
March 23, 1932 – May 7, 2025

Robert J. McKelvey – age 93, of Cape May, NJ passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by
his family. Born in Wilmington, Delaware to Dorothy and James McKelvey. Robert grew up in Wilmington,
Delaware. At the age of 19, Robert became a career man in the United States Air Force, serving 20 years
and retiring at the rank of Tech Sergeant. He then settled in Cape May, NJ where he took on a second
career with the West Cape May Board of Education. Robert served in the Vietnam War as well as the Korean War.

He loved to BBQ with his family and going to the beach. He also loved vacationing with his family especially to Disney World and Lancaster, PA. He loved his family and would smile when they visited, especially when his grandchildren and great grandchildren visited. Robert will be deeply missed by his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He is survived by his children, Robert McKelvey (Trish), Andrew McKelvey, Susan McKelvey and Kathleen Krych; grandchildren Joseph McKelvey, Patrick McKelvey, Courtney Krych, Michael McKelvey, James McKelvey and Daniel McKelvey; great grandchildren: Tyler Pearce and Hensley McKelvey. He is predeceased by his wife, Marie McKelvey; brother, Ronald McKelvey; mother, Dorothy McKelvey (nee Hoffman) and father, James McKelvey.

A graveside service with military honors will be held on Saturday (June 14th) at 10am in the Cape May County Veterans Cemetery.
