Yvonne Pelletier Cox
Yvonne Pelletier Cox, age 95, passed away on December 18, 2020 at her home in Sandwich, Illinois surrounded by her family.
She was born February 2, 1925 in Aurora, Illinois to Octave and Caroline Pelletier. She attended Sacred Heart Grade School and East Aurora High School.
Yvonne was employed at the Aurora National Bank for over 30 years and retired from there three times leaving with title of Director of Marketing. Her secretarial/administrative career included working for Dr. Rubenstein as well as Dr. Bernhard and also Family Counseling Service of Aurora. She made friends with everyone she met and was known for her caring and loving personality as well as being generous to a fault. She was a member of ABWA (American Business Women of America) Yorkville Chapter and held the office of President three times.
Yvonne was well known for her sewing, quilting, and crafts. She entered her beautiful quilts in the Sandwich Fair for 10 years and always came away with a first or second place. She crocheted and/or knit daily for hours and displayed her jewelry making and ceramics successfully at craft fairs. In her more than generous nature, for the last few years, she has been making and donating fleece blankets, child size quilts, stuffed animal toys and crocheted hats for children’s hospitals especially Lurie’s Children’s Hospital and for battered women shelters and for areas of traumatized children. She so enjoyed giving large catered Christmas parties for her 35-member family with gifts for each and every one of them. All day every day she loved watching her old westerns featuring John Wayne, The Rifleman, Rawhide and Gunsmoke as well as old crime shows Perry Mason, Streets of San Francisco and Hill Street Blues.
She is survived by her daughter, Leslie (Gary) Fatland of Sandwich, IL; son, Patrick (Janice) Cox of Yorkville, IL; son-in-law, Tom Heise of Somonauk, IL; grandchildren, Lauren Cox-Heise (Thomas) of Clearwater, FL, Erica (Charlie) Semenchuck of Volo, IL, Nate (Shannon) Fatland of Hinckley, IL, Luke (Kathi) Fatland of Somonauk, IL, Taylor (Mitch) Bogda of Sandwich, IL, Mike (Teresa) Cox of Yorkville, IL, Matt (Jamie) Cox of Yorkville, IL, Mark (Kristen) Cox of Yorkville, IL, and Marty (Katie) Cox of Sheridan, IL; 20 great-grandchildren; niece, Patti Grady of Sandwich, IL, nephew, Dave (Tammy) Cotton of Sandwich, IL and nieces and nephews Annette of Florida, Linda, Joyce, Nancy, Noel, Robert, and Richard of Washington. Yvonne will be forever missed by all her family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Octave and Caroline Pelletier, her husband, Patrick Cox, her daughter, Laura Cox-Heise, brother, Leroy Pelletier, her sisters, Dorothy (Pelletier) Cotton, and Jeanette Pelletier, in childhood, great-granddaughter Teagen Cox and niece, Michele Sunleaf.
