Wilma “Willie” Janet Moser, 88, of Hiawatha, Iowa, passed away on Thursday, July 11, 2024, at the Dennis and Donna Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy in Hiawatha, Iowa. The family will greet friends from 4 – 7 p.m. on Tuesday, July 16, 2024, at the Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Marion, Iowa. A Funeral Service will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, July 17, 2024, at Zion Lutheran Church in Hiawatha. A livestream of the funeral service may be accessed on the funeral home website tribute page for Willie, under “photos and videos or media,” starting at 10 a.m. Burial will follow at Shiloh Cemetery in Hiawatha. Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service is assisting the family.

Willie was born on August 12, 1935, near Guttenberg, Iowa, the daughter of Henry William and Orlly Anna (Vorwald) Rodenberg. She was baptized, confirmed, and married at Trinity Lutheran Church in Guttenberg. On November 13, 1954, Willie was united in marriage to Lloyd Owen Moser. They made their home in Cedar Rapids and later moved to Hiawatha in 1959. Willie had several jobs over the years, but her main job was being a homemaker. She did daycare in her home and baked and decorated cakes for 25 years. She was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church in Hiawatha, where she served as a teacher’s aide for Zion’s Little Lamb Preschool for more than 11 years. Willie enjoyed knitting, crocheting, quilting, cooking, reading, and sewing. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

Willie is survived and lovingly remembered by her siblings, Marvin (Wilma) Rodenberg of Garnavillo, Iowa, James (Eunice) Rodenberg of Grand Rapids, Minnesota, and Lois Morris of Summerton, South Carolina; and a host of extended family members including nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband of 50 years, Lloyd; brother, Gerald Rodenberg; and sister, Doris Bodone.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Keystone Cedars and Oldorf Hospice House for their loving care of Willie.
