William Max Garren

William Max Garren, 76 of Hendersonville, died Saturday, October 16, 2021 at the Elizabeth House. A native and lifelong resident of Henderson County he was a son of the late Curtis Odel Garren and Irma Garren. He was a 1963 graduate of Hendersonville High School and served as a Seabee in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War. He was an electrician by trade.
A member of First United Methodist Church, Hendersonville, he enjoyed gardening, working on tractors, and was a member of the Kedron Masonic Lodge and International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers.
Surviving is his loving and devoted wife of 50 years, Maryanne Garren; his daughters Maryanne “Minnie” Garren of Lexington, NC and Dr. Theresa Garren-Grubbs (Dr. Kyle Grubbs) of Elkton, South Dakota, who are both Daddy’s girls and the pride of his life. His furry grandchildren Daisey, Amelia, Louis, Larua, Gertrude and Alfie; a brother Tom Garren (Daphne) of Cary, NC; and his cousin David Guice and his son Mickey.
A graveside service will be held at 11am on Wednesday at Forest Lawn Memorial Park. Rev. Nathan Arledge will officiate. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Four Seasons Hospice, 571 S. Allen Road, Flat Rock, NC 28731.
