William Harbaugh

William Harbaugh, age 90, of New Philadelphia passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 20, 2022 in his home after a period of declining health.
Born in New Philadelphia on December 11, 1932, he was the son of the late Lloyd and Mildred (Uebel) Harbaugh.
Bill graduated from New Philadelphia High School in 1950. He then served in the US Army during the Korean Conflict. After his honorable discharge from the Army, he was a lifetime member of the Tusky VFW, where he served as Quartermaster. Bill was also a member of the New Philadelphia VFW. He worked for 42 years at Joy Manufacturing before his retirement. He was also an active member of the New Philadelphia Church of the Brethren.
He was married to Martha (Hostetler) Harbaugh and enjoyed many years of marriage before her passing on June 5, 2005.
Bill will be deeply missed by his children, Darlene (Jack) Wolfe, Fritz (Claudia) Hidey, Martha (Bill) Kilchenman, Eugene (Cindy) Harbaugh and Una Fox; his brother, Ralph (Linda) Harbaugh; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; and good friends, Jim Levengood and Todd Hupp.
In addition to his wife Bill was preceded in death by his parents, Lloyd and Mildred Harbaugh; children, John Hidey, Jim Hidey, Tom Hidey and Brady Hidey; brother, Harland Harbaugh; and sister, Doris Sheets.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 22, 2022 from 4:00 – 6:00 PM at Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home and Crematory in New Philadelphia. A funeral service will be held on Friday, December 23, 2022 at 1:30 PM in the funeral home chapel. Burial will follow in Evergreen Burial Park.
