William F. Ashmore
June 19, 1947 – November 6, 2021
We can mourn because he has died or we can rejoice because he lived. We choose to rejoice.
Bill Ashmore was born in Orange, Texas, on June 19, 1947. He passed away Saturday, November 6, 2021, at Universal Healthcare and Rehab Center in Fletcher, NC.
Many people knew Bill only by name but those who knew the man are saddened by his passing. Family and friends will remember him for his quick wit and sharp mind that gave him the ability to figure out a problem and then explain the way to work through it in simple terms that others could easily understand.
Bill is survived by his wife of 36 years, Cynthia (Cyd) Ashmore, his sister, Claire Culbreth, his niece, Tracie Collier, and his nephews, Rob Couch, Will Couch, and Kyle Kruzner, his great-nieces, Betty Harper, Talia, Abby and Lillie, and his great-nephews Rowan, and Draegen. Chris and JoNell Gotshall, Rick and Maggie Walker and Steve Kruzner also survive.
His family is full of love and being with them gave him great joy.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ralph and Yvette Ashmore, and his sister, Margaret Kruzner.
He spent the majority of his working life with The Glidden Paint Company where his honesty, integrity, work ethic and sense of humor earned him the love and respect of his co-workers. After retiring from Glidden he worked for H&R Block as an Enrolled Agent. Each tax return was like a puzzle to him and he worked hard to find every client the most beneficial result.
A celebration of Bill’s life will be held in the spring.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to a charity of your choice.
