William (Bill) Conway, 67, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa passed away peacefully with family by his side on Friday, March 8, 2024 at Heritage Specialty Care. Funeral Mass: 10:30 A.M. Saturday, March 23, 2024 at Saint Matthew Catholic Church, Cedar Rapids. Entombment: Mount Calvary Cemetery, Cedar Rapids. Papich-Kuba Funeral Service serving the family.
Bill, the son of Jack and Connie (Kregel) Conway, was born in Cedar Rapids on April 14, 1956. He graduated from Kennedy High School. As a life long member of Saint Matthew’s Church, Bill enjoyed helping clean the Church after Masses, and performing other chores that needed to be done. He loved his dogs, Frenchy and Max, going to ball games, bowling with his friends, hanging out with family, and “Coca-Cola”. His courage was an inspiration to everyone who knew him. He will always be in our hearts.
Bill is survived by siblings, John (Wanda) Conway of Grimes, Iowa, Mary (Tom) Victor of Omaha, Nebraska, Jim (Lori) Conway of Cedar Rapids; aunts, Corine Pavich of Phoenix, Arizona, and Katie Kregel of Fort Dodge, Iowa, and many beloved nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Special thanks to the staff at Heritage Specialty Care for their many years of care, support, and friendship; and Mercy Hospice for their support and comfort in Bill’s final weeks. Thanks also to Mercy Home Health, The Arc of East Central Iowa, and all of the other agencies for the years of support they provided so Bill could remain at home until transitioning to Heritage Specialty Care.
And a very, very special thanks to “MOM”, for the selfless love and devotion she gave Bill throughout his life.
In lieu of flowers, please consider making a memorial contribution in Bill’s honor to The Arc of East Central Iowa, 680 2nd Street S.E., Cedar Rapids, Iowa 52401 or Hospice of Mercy through the Mercy Foundation, 701 10th Street S.E., Cedar Rapids, Iowa 52403.
