William “Bill” Henry Skaggs, Jr.

William “Bill” Henry Skaggs, Jr., 60, of St. Louis, MO, formerly of Springfield, IL, passed away on Monday, May 23, 2022 at Heritage Care of Berkeley. He was born November 19, 1961 in Springfield, the son of William H. Skaggs, Sr. and Helen Elizabeth (Watkins) Skaggs and they preceded him in death.

He is survived by one sister, Linda (Rev. Steve) Smith of Springfield; one niece, Ariel Smith of Springfield; two nephews, Johnny Smith of Urbana and Micah Smith (fiancée, Maddie Hanrahan) of Brookfield; step-father, Bruno Odorizzi of Springfield; three aunts, Lois Hare of Sherman, Dorothy (John) Negangard of Athens, and Carla Watkins of Sherman and numerous cousins.

Bill was a resident of Springfield for most of his life. He was a member of Douglas Avenue United Methodist Church. He enjoyed auto racing, hiking, and music of all kinds. He especially enjoyed math and science and most of all a bottle of Mountain Dew.

Graveside Service: 10:30 am, Friday, June 3, 2022 at Oak Ridge Cemetery with Rev. Steve Smith officiating.
