William “Bill” E. Roof

William “Bill” E. Roof, 55 of Springfield, died on Sunday December 27, 2020 at Memorial Medical Center. He was born October 11, 1965 in Springfield, to Lyle and Sandra Gaffigan Roof.

He is survived by two sons, Jacob Roof and Cody Mattison; five grandchildren, Tytiana, Jacob, Jr. and J’marion Roof and Carter and Noah Mattison; five brothers, Robert, Ronald, Michael, Patrick and Joshua Roof and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Shaun and Gerald Roof.
William was co-owner with his son Jacob and founder of Blue Ox Tree Service, as well as working with close friend Pete Munds with Munds Enterprises.

Bill had a great sense of humor, he loved to make others smile. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and hanging out with his friends and family. He had many friends and he cherished every friendship he had.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, January 7, 2021 at Blessed Sacrament Church 1725 S. Walnut, Springfield from 9:30 am until time of services at 11:00 am with Reverend Jeff Grant officiating.
