William “Bill” Arthur Schaich

William “Bill” Arthur Schaich, 82, passed away unexpectedly in his Granbury home on July 26, 2022.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 4, 2022 at the Wiley Funeral Home (400 Highway 377 East) in Granbury, Texas at 1PM.
A Memorial Service celebrating his life will follow visitation, starting at 2PM.
Burial will be held at a later date at Arlington National Cemetery in Arlington, Virginia.
Bill was born on November 25, 1939, in Cincinnati, Ohio to Edward and Alice Schaich. Bill married his beloved wife, Lela Ann Woodward on March 16, 1973. He joined the United States Airforce and proudly served his country in the Vietnam War. Bill continued to serve his country as a career airman achieving the rank of Chief Master Sergeant. He was most proud of having the honor to serve for over 7 years as the Maintenance Crew Superintendent on Air Force One. He enjoyed outdoor activities including hunting, fishing, and playing golf with the friends he met in the Decordova Bend community. Most of all, Bill will be remembered as a ”true patriot” who cherished time spent with is family.
Bill is survived by his wife, Lela Ann Schaich; his sons, William “Billy” (Shelia) Schaich, Neil (Nancy) Donovan, Tim (Jodie) Donovan, Steve Schaich, and Kevin (Davlyn) Donovan; by 8 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; his brother, Ed Schaich and by his sister, Beverly Kennedy.
In addition to his parents, Bill was preceded in death by his two brothers, Donnie and Ken Schaich.
