Wayne Snider

Wayne Snider, 79, of Dawson, IL, was called home to be with his Lord and Savior on Tuesday, August 16, 2022 at Springfield Memorial Hospital. He was born November 1, 1942, in Owosso, MI, the son of Maurice and Bina (Smith) Snider. He married Gail Hubbard on May 24, 1975 and she survives.

Also surviving are four daughters, Rachel (Scott) Bledsoe of Buffalo, IL; Esther Snider of Illiopolis, IL; Katherine (Thomas) Stevens of Simi Valley, CA; and Danielle Joy of Salsipuedes, Argentina; and ten grandchildren, Michaela Snider, Brianna Bledsoe, Dylan Bledsoe, Sam Noel, Michelle Noel, Shane Harlan, Jr., Elijah Harlan, Sabastian Stevens, Madison Stevens, and Ashton Stevens; one great-grandchild, Jakari Snider; three siblings, Ralph (Jackie) Snider of St. John’s, MI, Carl (Beth) Snider of Pickford, MI and Ruth Jandik of Owosso, MI; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

He is preceded in death by his parents; brother, Bruce Snider; and sister-in-law, Sheila Snider.

Wayne loved Jesus and was strong in character and spirit. He demonstrated God’s love daily thru gifts of service to others, and honored God by his actions, not just with words. Wayne attended SouthTower Community Church with his family. He also enjoyed cycling, working on his 1926 Model-T, and was a NASCAR fan for over thirty years.

Wayne was a school bus driver for District 186 for 25 Years. He also often drove the bus for field trips and volunteered to drive the bus for church youth conferences.

Wayne also worked in other transportation, manufacturing, the service industry, and owned his own cleaning business. Wayne had volunteered for the Dawson fire department.
“You will make known to me the path of life; in Your presence is fullness of joy; in Your right hand there are pleasures forevermore.” Psalm 16:11.

Visitation: 12:30 – 1:30 pm, Sunday, August 21, 2022 at SouthTower Community Church.

Funeral Service: 1:30 pm, Sunday, August 21, 2022 at SouthTower Community Church with Pastor Charlie Carver officiating. Burial will follow at Mechanicsburg Cemetery. Everyone is welcome to
the luncheon at the church following burial.
