Vivian Charlotte Robinson, 88, died Sunday, Sept. 11, 2022, at Mercy Hospital, Cedar Rapids. Mass of Christian Burial: 10:30 a.m. Friday, St. Mary Catholic Church, Vinton, with Father Jim Brokman as Celebrant. Burial: Oakwood Cemetery, Shellsburg at 1 p.m. A Rosary will be recited at 5 p.m. on Thursday at St. Mary Catholic Church. Those not attending the Rosary may visit with the family from 5:30 to 8 p.m. at the church and after 9:30 a.m. on Friday. Van Steenhuyse-Teahen Funeral Home is caring for the family.
Charlotte is survived by her husband of 69 years, Tom; children, Anna (Melvin) Hurst, Mike (Becky) Robinson, Carolyn Robinson, Kathryn Robinson, Stephanie (Bill) Jelinek, Pat (Cindy) Robinson, John Robinson and Mary Robinson; 30 grandchildren; 44 great-grandchildren; and 16 great-great-grandchildren.
Charlotte was preceded in death by her parents; her in-laws, Bert and Elizabeth (Krumplemann) Robinson; grandson, Patrick Robinson; sons-in-law, Mike Stratton and Dean Caltvedt; three brothers, Keith Lint and two in infancy; and three sisters, Ida Bell Meek, Beulah Mae Neal and Alice Toomey.
Charlotte was born Aug. 22, 1934, on a farm in Benton County, the daughter of Orville and Elsie (Greenwood) Lint. She graduated from Palo High School. On June 13, 1953, Charlotte was united in marriage to Thomas Robinson at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Cedar Rapids. She was employed by Amana Refrigeration, retiring after 20 years.
Charlotte loved her grandchildren, fishing and bingo.
A memorial fund has been established.
