Vincent F. Miller
Formerly of Walworth
Vincent was born June 26, 1929 in West Bend, Wisconsin to Lee and Marcella (Ney) Miller. He passed away on Wednesday, June 7, 2023 at the Gardens of Ridgestone in Elkhorn.
Vincent joined the Army after graduating high school. He served as a member of the 82nd Airborne as the communications specialist. After being honorably discharged, he furthered his education in the field of Electronics Engineering. He then went to work for the Admiral Corporation in Harvard, Illinois where he worked as a Quality Control Engineer for 24 years. In 1954 while working at Admiral, he met the love of his life, Joanne Elizabeth Damak, on a blind date. They were married in September of 56. After leaving Admiral he went to work for Kikkoman Foods in Walworth, Wisconsin where he had numerous positions starting in the bottling department and working his way up to brewmaster. He enjoyed his many years as brewmaster and worked in that capacity until his retirement in 1998. In February 2003, JoAnne, passed away after being happily married for 47 years.
Vincent had numerous interests away from work. He was a big Green Bay Packer fan and spent most Sunday afternoons in the fall watching the Packers. He was also very interested in auto racing, and was very proud of his two sons, as they both competed at different levels of auto racing. Perhaps his biggest love, especially after retirement was golf. He enjoyed watching golf in his spare time, but he much preferred to be on the course himself. When the weather permitted he could be found on the golf course 6 to 7 days a week. A hole in one is very rare and Vincent not only had one, he had two.
Vince is survived by 2 sons, Jeffrey (Lynn) Miller and Vincent L. (Sally) Miller: 2 Grandchildren, Kerri (Tim) Juedes and Ross (Sarah) Miller; 2 great grandchildren Daxton Juedes and Peyton Miller; as well as many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife Joanne E. Miller as well as 7 brothers and 3 sisters.
The family would also like to thank the staff at The Gardens at Ridgestone in Elkhorn for the excellent loving care that Vincent received during his last couple years.
A visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 14, 2023 at Toynton Walworth Funeral Home, 328 Kenosha St., Walworth from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM and again on Thursday at First United Methodist Church of Harvard, 1100 N Division St, Harvard, IL from 10:00 AM until the time of service at 11:00 AM.
