Verne Arnold Doehrmann was born April 10, 1938, in rural Williamsburg, Iowa, the son of Rudolph and Loretta (Glandorf) Doehrmann. He graduated from Williamsburg High School. Verne was united in marriage to Lois Koch on March 11, 1978, at St. Paul Methodist Church in Williamsburg. Verne worked for Chipman Feed & Grain. He was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church. He enjoyed watching his grandchildren play sports, fishing and working in his garden. Verne passed away on Wednesday, Sept. 21, 2022, at Mercy Hospital in Iowa City, at the age of 84 years.

He is survived by four children, Keith Doehrmann of Plantersville, Texas, Kevin (Lynne) Doehrmann of Williamsburg, Kenneth (Helen) Doehrmann of Parnell and Kerri (Val) Holub of Williamsburg; a stepdaughter, Julie Murley of Williamsburg; six grandchildren, Jacob Holub, Josh Holub, Jill Holub, Abby Doehrmann, Zach Doehrmann and Alex (Haley) Murley; four great-grandchildren, Paisley Jo, Willa, Lennon and Clayton; three brothers, Orville Doehrmann of Stryker, Ohio, Ronald Doehrmann of Williamsburg and Larry Doehrmann of Cedar Rapids; and three sisters, Alice Grisham of Cedar Rapids, Lorraine Grimm of Millersburg and Kathy Rudin of Conroy.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Lois “Pepsi”; three brothers, Dean Doehrmann, Earl Doehrmann and Dale Doehrmann; and a sister, Ethel Hull.

A Celebration of Life service will be 1 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 24, at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Williamsburg. Burial will be at Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Powell Funeral Home in Williamsburg. A memorial fund has been established for St. Paul Lutheran Church or Immanuel Lutheran Church.
