Velma A. Philley “Vicky” passed away Monday, November 29th, 2021 in Granbury, Texas. She was born August 3, 1931 at the “Fry” Homestead near Iroquois, Illinois to Henry John Fry and Effie Mae Doran Fry.
Velma married Henry Philley on January 1, 2013. He preceded her in death on November 22, 2020. She was a Christian, attended local churches, and loved studying her Bible.
Surviving are one daughter, Melody Trudeau (Jim) of Bourbonnais, IL, stepchildren Glenn Schafroth (Sue) of Clifton, IL; Brenda Cordes (Doug) of Piper City, IL and Bill Schafroth of Laverne, OK as well as grandchildren Antoinette Curry (John), Michael Moore (Karen), Charles Moore, Christina Shover (Justin), Gretchen Heine (Aaron), Kelly Cartwright (Ryan), Sara D’Agostino (Scott), Crissy Danly (Chris), Courtney Cordes, James Schafroth and Kylee Schafroth as well as numerous great, great-great and great-great-great grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, brothers Andrew and John Fry, sister Bessie Fry Beaver, stepsons Dennis Schafroth, Ronnie Philley and daughter Mary Louise Hayes.
Funeral arrangements are being handled by Wiley Funeral Home of Granbury, Texas with graveside services at Acton Cemetery, 2pm Friday December 3, 2021.
