Todd William Norden, 52, of Mesa, Ariz., formerly of Cedar Rapids, passed away peacefully Saturday, Aug. 12, 2023, in his home surrounded by family.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Bretta Norden; his father, Alan Norden; his brother, Trent (Melanie) Norden; his son, Gabriel; his stepson, Scott (Samantha) Hanisch; his stepdaughter, Nicole (Greg) Hanisch; and was Grandpa Todd to Madison, Micah, Austin, Avery and Ameilia Jae. Also, left to cherish his life were his aunts, uncles, cousins, sisters and brothers-in-law and his nephews and nieces.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Gloria Norden; and his grandparents.

Todd was born on Nov. 13, 1970, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, the son of Alan and Gloria (Opfer) Norden. He married Bretta Bullion on Jan. 1, 2018, in Sioux Falls, S.D. They then moved to Mesa, Ariz., and resided there until his passing.

Todd was a CDM Coordinator for Grand River Health District, where he loved and enjoyed his career. He graduated from Jefferson High School in Cedar Rapids, he received his bachelor of arts (B.A.), journalism, English, from the University of Iowa and a bachelor of science (B.S.) ,health information administration from Dakota State University. He was a member of AHIMA, HFMA.

Todd was an adventurer. He loved traveling the world with Bretta. He enjoyed creating memories and trying new things. His love of adventure had taken him skydiving, parasailing, jet skiing, kayaking and he was never afraid to try anything once. Todd had a unique way of making people laugh and was never afraid to laugh at himself. He enjoyed life and many of his happiest times were being surrounded by family and friends playing games of all kinds, especially trivia. He loved spending time with his pups Mila and Maci. He had a passion for music of all genres, and you could always find him listening to his favorite album or reading one of his favorite literary classics.

Services: 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 26, at Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories. Burial: Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. A visitation will be held on Friday, Aug. 25, at Cedar Memorial Chapel Stateroom from 4 to 7 p.m. and at 10 a.m. at the chapel on Saturday until service time. Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home oversees the arrangements.
