Tina Dessecker

Tina Rae Dessecker, age 61, of New Philadelphia passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, December 22, 2022 in Mercy Medical Center at Canton.
Born in Dover on February 26, 1961, she was the daughter of the late Charles Malterer and Norma (Hess) Malterer Wells.
Tina graduated from Dover High School in 1979. She married Richard Dessecker on July 2, 1984 and together they enjoyed 38 years of marriage.
Tina devoted her life to caring for her husband, children, and grandchildren whom she adored. She was affectionately known as Gigi by her grandchildren. She made a point to be active in her grandkid’s lives, never missing an activity of theirs. She was employed by Tremcar USA for 19 years as an executive assistant. Tina was also a member of the Antique Motorcycle Club of America.
Tina will be deeply missed by her husband Rich; children, Tonie (Josh) Horn of Strasburg and Stephanie (Sarah) Dessecker of Columbus; grandchildren, Ryann and Harper Horn, and soon to be born Remington Horn; mother, Norma Wells; brother, Don Malterer; and sister, Ada Mears.
She is preceded in death by her father, Charles Malterer; step-father, Jack Wells; twin-sister, Toni Malterer; and brothers, Phillip and Lennie Malterer
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 27, 2022 from 5:00 – 7:00PM at Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home and Crematory in New Philadelphia. A service celebrating Tina’s life will be held on Wednesday, December 28, 2022 beginning at 10:00 AM in the Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Jim Manbeck officiating.
