Timothy E. Hayes

Timothy E. Hayes, 62, of Springfield, passed away peacefully in his sleep on Sunday, February 13, 2022 at his home. He was born August 4, 1959, in Newfoundland, the son of James Edwin and Norma Jean (Ball) Hayes. He married Colleen M. Burggraf on July 17, 1999 and she survives.

Also surviving are his three daughters, Kaitlyn Hayes of Chicago; Kimberly (Beau) Healey of Nevada and Sarah Hayes of Nevada; one son, Nicholas (Cassandra) Hayes of Utah, eight grandchildren; beloved mother, Norma Jean Hayes of Kentucky; three brothers, Michael (Lynn) Hayes of Tennessee, Rick (Cheryl) Hayes of Hawaii and Christopher “Skeeter” (Teresa) Hayes of California; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He is preceded in death by his father, James Edwin Hayes.

Timothy has been a resident of Springfield since 2015. He had worked for Cox Communications.

Timothy was a life long Miami Dolphin fan and his wife had converted him over to being a CUBS fan.

Private family services are being held.
