Thomas L. Wilson

Thomas L. Wilson, 79, of Springfield, formerly of New Berlin, passed on Saturday, July 23, 2021 at his home, surrounded by his family. He was born November 23, 1941, in Waverly, the son of John W. and Helen C. (Harrington) Wilson. He married Mary Jane Gharst on October 10, 1964 and she survives.

Also surviving are one daughter, Angela (Jeff) Carter; one son, Scott Thomas (Michelle) Wilson; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; one sister, Patricia (Larry) Golden; one brother, John M. Wilson; and several nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents and three sisters, Donna Withrow, Connie Dietrich and Carmen Wilson.

Tom was a member of the Knights of Columbus for 61 years. He was a Fourth Degree Knight for 21 years. Tom enjoyed gardening and making chili for Moorhead Manor in Naples, Florida for the last 17 years, where he and his wife spent their winters.

Memorial Gathering: 4 – 7 pm, Friday, July 30, 2021 at Staab Funeral Home – Springfield.

Memorial Mass: 11:00 am, Saturday, July 31, 2021 at St. Mary’s Church with Reverend Ronnie Lorilla officiating. Burial will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery, New Berlin.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to American Cancer Society or American Heart Association.
