Thomas A. “Tom” Stepic

Thomas A. Stepic, 80, of Scio, passed away in Park Village Healthcare Center on August 2, 2021.

Born in Cleveland on August 4, 1940, he was the son of the late Anthony Victor and Marjorie (Carmen) Stepic.

After graduating from high school, Tom joined the United States Air Force where he honorably served his country from 1958 to 1962. On September 23, 1961, Tom married the love of his life, the former Anne Kitto, who he met in England while serving overseas.

Professionally, Tom served as a firefighter for the City of Cleveland for 27 years prior to his retirement in 1991 as a Battalion Chief.

Twenty years ago he fell in love with the property they live on near Tappan Lake. After years of love and thousands of hours of hard work, the old “cow pasture” became a haven full of beauty and peace for he and Anne, and his Pride and Joy.

He is survived by his wife, Anne; his children, Matthew Stepic of Broadview Heights, Lisa (Bernie) Kainec of Hinkley, and Michael (Karen) Stepic of Uniontown; his siblings, David (Barbara) Stepic of Brooklyn, Ohio, and Barbara (William) Farland of Colorado; and grandchildren, Kaelyn, Laura, and Anthony Stepic, and Bernard III, Samantha, Charles and Natalie Kainec.

No public visitation or services are scheduled at this time. Geib Funeral Services in Dover are entrusted with Tom’s cremation care.
