Theodore “Ted” J. Smith
Theodore “Ted” J. Smith, 72, of Springfield, passed away, surrounded by his wife and daughters, on Wednesday, January 11, 2023. He was born January 25, 1950, in Springfield, the son of Theodore J. and Betty Marie (Peontek) Smith. He married Jean M. Ryan on November 24, 1989.
Surviving Ted are his wife; four daughters, Cozette Smith of Springfield, Christina (Andrew) Kelley of Pella, IA, Holly (Kola Pasdeck) Smith of Indianapolis, IN, and Amy (Bob) Cawley of Glenarm; four grandchildren, Avery Cawley, Finn, Amelia and Ellie Kelley; three siblings, Timothy Smith of Jacksonville, Kenneth (Lisa) Smith of Rochester, and Melinda Smith of Laguna Woods, CA; and brother-in-law, Terry Stickel of Springfield.
He is preceded in death by his parents; sister, Drena Stickel; and sister-in-law, Debbie Smith.
He was a lineman for CWLP and retired in 2004, after 34 years of service.
Visitation: 10 am – 12 pm, Friday, January 13, 2023 at Staab Funeral Home – Springfield.
Funeral Service: 12 pm, Friday, January 13, 2023 at Staab Funeral Home Springfield with Chaplain Patsy Kelly officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Ridge Cemetery.
