Terry Hykes

Terry Hykes, age 79, of New Philadelphia, died Tuesday, November 22, 2022 in Select Specialty Hospital in Mercy Medical Center at Canton, Ohio after a period of declining health.
Born in Dover, Ohio on April 9, 1943, Terry was the son of the late Orren and Dorothy (VanLehn) Hykes-Denning.
Terry was a 1962 graduate of New Philadelphia High School. He married Pamela (Beaber) Hykes on June 12, 1966, and together they enjoyed 56 years of marriage.
During his younger years Terry enjoyed riding Harley Davidson Motorcycles and driving his Corvettes. Terry served in the US Army Reserves and was a member of the New Philadelphia Elks. He was also an avid Cleveland sports fan and Ohio State Buckeyes fan.
Terry was an Electrician by trade and was a member of the Local Union 540. He was proud to have been a 56-year member of the union.
Along with his wife, Terry is survived by his three daughters, Heather (Brian) Norris of Sylvania, Ohio, Jennifer Kornblum of Medina, Ohio and Lisa (Mike) Meade of North Olmsted, Ohio; grandsons, Nathaniel Norris, Andrew Norris, Adam Kornblum and David Kornblum; he is also survived by his sister, Sandra Yannone of Phoenix, Arizona.
Terry is preceded in death by his parents, Orren and Dorothy Hykes; step-father, Robert Denning.
Friends may greet the family on Monday, November 28, 2022 from 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM in the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia where Pastor Harley Wheeler will lead a service celebrating Terry’s life in the funeral home’s chapel at 12:00 PM.
