Quasqueton

Terry D. Love, 77, a lifelong resident of Quasqueton, IA, died at his home of natural causes on November 2, 2024.

Terry was born on October 15, 1947, to Ray and Naomi Love of Quasqueton. Terry graduated from East Buchanan High School with the Class of 1965.

Two years later he went to work for Rockwell Collins in Cedar Rapids, spending most of his thirty-six years there in the electro-plating department. He retired in 2002 at the age of fifty-five.

In retirement Terry enjoyed fishing, golf and happy hour at Wee Willy’s until declining health forced him to give up his pastimes.

His friends called him the Old Pro after a beer-loving cartoon character in popular Falstaff beer commercials of the 1950s and 1960s.

He was a man of few words who ordered beer by tapping his empty can on the bar. His reticence was consistent with his philosophy that the less people think you know the better off you are.

He is survived by a brother, Orlan (Corinne) Love of Quasqueton; a sister, Marleen (Dave) Patterson of Atkins, IA; and three nephews, Seth and Sam Patterson, both of Atkins, IA, and Fred Love of Ames, IA.

Terry is preceded in death by his parents, Ray and Naomi Love.

A Memorial Service will be held at 11 AM on Friday, November, 8, 2024 at the Reiff Family Center – Funeral Home & Crematory in Independence, IA. Visitation will be held from 9 until the service on Friday. Inurnment will be held at the Quasqueton Cemetery in Quasqueton, IA.
