Terrie Kohl, 67, died unexpectedly on Sunday, July 2, 2023, at her home in Clive. A Celebration of Terrie’s Life will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, July 22, at Lutheran Church of Hope in West Des Moines with visitation one hour prior to the service.

Terrie was born Oct. 26, 1955, in Hastings, Neb., to Ramon and Jean (Hofferber) Kohl. She grew up in Cedar Rapids. Her culinary career brought her to Des Moines. Terrie lived her love of food through her business, Country Club Market. She credits her father for his work ethic and her mother for her skills and talent in the kitchen.

Terrie found great faith and comfort in our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and is remembered by many as a bright light with a passionate soul.

Survivors include her brother, Craig Kohl of Cedar Rapids; sister, Deborah Pierce of Marion.

Terrie was preceded in death by her parents.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Iowa Culinary Institute at Des Moines Area Community College or the Senior Living Center of your choice.
