Terri Michelle Whaley
- October 12, 2021
Terri M. Whaley, 64, of Mansfield, passed away early Sunday morning at Avita Health System-Galion Hospital.
Born Terri Michelle Ziway, on February 13, 1957, in Mansfield, Ohio, she was the daughter of Michael and Patricia (Travis) Ziway. On May 4, 1985, she was blessed to marry the love of her life, Dwight Richard “Rick” Whaley, whom she affectionately called “her Ricky”. Inseparable ever since, Terri and Rick enjoyed the freedom of the outdoors— hunting, fishing and four-wheeling. Where one was found, the other wasn’t far behind and Terri said she married her best friend. Their love was unique and beautiful and their legacy together will live on forever.
Terri loved the Lord fiercely and her trust in His word was unfailing. She adored her children and grandchildren and they were always in her heart. She was an excellent cook and canned many of the family’s fruits and vegetables. Terri enjoyed traveling to the sunshine of Florida whenever she was able. She worked for many years at Jacobs Excavating where she was the Office Manager.
Terri is survived by her husband of 36 years, Rick Whaley; two children, Cheri (Kris) Fox and Michael (Melissa) Whaley; four grandchildren, Rutger, Grayson, Noah James and Sophia; mother, Patricia Ziway; a sister, Cheri (Randy) Deems; mother-in-law, Sharon (Wayne) Hopper; sister-in-law, Sherlyn (Dick) Miller; and brother-in-law, Leo “Ed” Whaley. She was preceded in death by her father, Michael Ziway; granddaughter, Bella; and father-in-law, Dwight (Dottie) Whaley.
A memorial service will be held at the family home at a future date. The Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors is honored to serve the family.
