Terrence “Terry” Leroy Scheetz, 73, of Oxford, passed away, Thursday, June 13, 2024, on his homestead.

Funeral Services will be held at 11 AM, Tuesday, June 18, 2024, at Lensing Funeral & Cremation Service, Iowa City. Visitation will be from 9:30 AM to 11AM, with a luncheon to follow at The Kirkwood Room. Graveside Committal will be held at 2 PM, Tuesday at Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Oxford, IA. In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established in Terry’s name.

Terry was born on March 8, 1951, in Iowa City, IA, the son of William and Vera (Grant) Scheetz. His greatest passion was his farm. Terry received his B.A. from The University of Iowa and served on the Johnson County Farm Bureau. He was a friend to many and was connected with the community. Terry had a dry sense of humor with a penchant for witty remarks. He had a great memory and loved to haggle for the best deal.

Terry is survived by his two siblings, Linda Lown of Hiawatha, IA and Sandy Shank of Coralville, IA; seven nieces and nephews, Michael (Teresa) Lown, Cari (Nicholas Wilkinson) Scheetz, Robert Lown, Morgan (Nick) Davies, Cody (Dorna) Shank, Savannah (Adam) Cameron, and Nicholas Scheetz; five great nieces and nephews; and numerous extended family and friends including, Jim and Kim Whirley.

Terry was preceded in death by his parents; and brothers Marcus and Kevin Scheetz; sister, Janet Bowers; and Niece, Mackenzie Lown.
