Susan “Sue” Kay Bowsher Horrighs

Susan “Sue” Kay Bowsher Horrighs, 59, of Springfield, passed away on Saturday, September 25, 2021 at Memorial Medical Center. She was born October 8, 1961, in Springfield, the daughter of James E. and Edith M. (Patterson) Bowsher. She married Charles “Chuck” Horrighs on October 10, 1998 and he survives.
Also surviving are her daughter, Amanda Horrighs of Springfield; grandchild, Damon; mother, Edith; two sisters, Janice Danosky of Manchester, TN and Theresa (Phillip) Brown of Elkhart; three brothers, Steve (Valentina) Bowsher of Cape Coral, FL, Jim Bowsher of Sherman and Gary (Nicole) Bowsher of Chatham; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She is preceded in death by her father, James.
Sue was a lifelong resident of the Springfield area. She graduated from Williamsville High School in 1979 and obtained her Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from UIS. She was an active member of New Beginnings Apostolic Church. She was a system analyst for the State of Illinois, retiring after more than 30 years of service. Sue was a diehard fan of the St. Louis Cardinals. She enjoyed gardening, landscaping puzzles, traveling, and loved going on road trips to Tennessee.
Visitation: 2:00 – 5:00 pm, Sunday, October 3, 2021 at Staab Funeral Home – Springfield.
Funeral Service: 9:30 am, Monday, October 4, 2021 at Staab Funeral Home – Springfield with Pastor Greg Tucker officiating. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park.
Memorial contributions may be made to New Beginnings Apostolic Church or to a charity of the donor’s choice.
