Steven M. Fox

Steven M. Fox, age 53, of New Philadelphia, died unexpectedly, Wednesday, September 7, 2022, in Cleveland Clinic Union Hospital following a brief illness.

Born in Union Hospital on September 25, 1968, Steve was a son of John C. “Jack” Fox of New Philadelphia and the late Carol (Sanders) Fox.

Steve was a 1986 graduate of New Philadelphia and studied Natural Resources at Hocking Tech before turning to a career in Culinary Arts. For a period of time, he studied under an Italian chef in Columbus and remained in the restaurant industry for 30 years having most recently been employed by Pointe Dining at New Philadelphia.

An avid outdoorsman, Steve enjoyed hunting, shooting, and camping. The place where he found the most comfort and peace was spending time at his family’s campground, Memory Park. Additionally, Steve was a member of the First United Methodist Church at New Philadelphia, a life member of Tusco Rifle Club, and a diehard fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers.

In addition to his father, Steve is survived by his son, Chris Fox of New Philadelphia, Chris’ mother, Kaycee Fox also of New Philadelphia; a brother, John C. (Lisa) Fox, Jr.; a nephew, Sean Fox all of Tallmadge.

Completing the family are numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins and will be especially missed by special cousins, Mark (Tammy) Murphy of Bolivar and Michael (Tracie) Murphy of New Philadelphia and their families.

In addition to his mother, Steve was preceded in death by his maternal and paternal grandparents.

In keeping with Steve’s wishes, cremation will take place. The family will hold a celebration of Steve’s life at a later date. The Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia is handling arrangements.

In order to honor the memory of Steve’s mother, Carol, the family requests that contributions be directed to the Alzheimer’s Association of Central Ohio, 1379 Dublin Road, Columbus, Ohio 43215.
