Steven Bermes

Steven Bermes, age 37 of Montgomery, IL passed away at the University of Chicago Medical Center, Chicago, IL on Monday, March 8, 2021. He was born on November 3, 1983 in Naperville, IL the son of Keith Bermes and Marilyn (Honzik) Bermes.

Steve was united in marriage on June 27, 2008 to Suzanne Nemmers and they spent the next 13 years happily together. He was a 2002 graduate of Oswego High School then continuing his education at Aurora University from which he graduated in 2006.  Mr. Bermes was employed at Travelers Insurance in Naperville, IL. Steve was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church in Yorkville, IL.  He enjoyed watching sports with his family and friends.  Steve was a loving husband, father, son, brother, and uncle who will be deeply missed by all that knew him.

Steve is survived by his wife, Suzanne Bermes, of Montgomery, IL; his children, Nathan and Brynlee Bermes of Mongtomery, IL; his parents, Keith and Marilyn Bermes of Oswego, IL; his brother, Matthew (Hilary) Bermes of Batavia, IL; his sister, Rebecca Bermes of Oswego, IL; as well as several nieces and nephews.

Steven was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Frank and Dorothy Honzik; and his paternal grandparents, LeRoy and Audrey Bermes.

A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, March 13, 2021 at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 406 Walnut St., Yorkville, IL, with Father Matthew Lamoureux M.I.C. officiating.  Interment will follow in St. Patrick Cemetery, Bristol, IL.

Friends may visit from 4:00 until 8:00 PM on Friday, March 12, 2021 at the Nelson Funeral Home, 1617 N. Bridge St., Yorkville, IL.

Memorials for Steve may be directed to his family for the future education of Nathan and Brynlee.
