Stephen Robert Eley

Stephen Robert Eley, age 60, of Hendersonville, North Carolina, passed away on Sunday, November 21, 2021.  Born in Cocoa Beach, Florida on August 27, 1961, he was the son of Patricia Barker of Hendersonville and the late E.W. Bob Eley.

In addition to his father, Stephen is also preceded in death by his wife, Lisa Michelle LoDuca Eley; and his brother, Brian Eugene Eley.

A graduate of DeLauro Junior High School, Stephen proudly worked at Kennedy Space Center in Florida as a computer analyst.  A caretaker of his parents, he enjoyed listening to rock music, playing the drums, and pulling a practical joke on someone.  Stephen, who was a member of Valley Hill Baptist Church, also made time to volunteer for the Church on the Rock Prison Ministry.

Stephen is survived by, in addition to his mother, his stepfather, Robert “Bob” Barker; two daughters, Rachael Eley of Viera, Florida and Brittany Eley of Omaha, Nebraska; two grandchildren, Jack and Nora Stienmetz; one brother, Mark Eley (Christi) of Winston-Salem, North Carolina; two stepbrothers, Jeff Barker (Diane) of Wilmington, Ohio and Rick Barker (Sheryl) of Cincinnati, Ohio; cousins, Edmond Eley and Barbara Eley, both of Melbourne, Florida; and special friends, Ed and Vicky.

A celebration of life for both Stephen and Brian will be held on Wednesday, December 1^st, 2021, at 3:00 p.m. in the Kirby Memorial Chapel of Shuler Funeral Home in Hendersonville with Pastor David Woodie officiating.
