Stephen “Petie” Lowe

Stephen “Petie” Lowe, 70, of Springfield, passed away on Tuesday, February 7, 2023 at Springfield Memorial Hospital. He was born September 2, 1952 in Springfield, the son of James and Violet (Spann) Lowe. He married Susan “Sue” Smith on March 26, 1983.
He is survived by his wife, Sue; three sons, Stephen (Stephanie) Lowe, Jr. of Charleston, SC, Michael (Nicole) Lowe of Charleston, SC, and Chad (Heather) Lowe of Springfield; seven grandchildren, Ashliegh, JP, Kayden, Carter, Carman, Patrick and Parker; one great grandchild, Bryce; two sisters, Lois (Steven) Livingston of Springfield and Sheila Lowe of Florida; six brothers, Jim Lowe, Richard Lowe, Jerry (Betty) Lowe, Ronald (Wanda) Lowe, Randy Lowe and Bill (Charlene) Lowe, all of Springfield and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Curt Smith; siblings, Louise Hurst, John Lowe, Dave Lowe, Dennis Lowe and Mary Kay Lowe.
He lived in Springfield for all of his life and worked at Dunn’s Painting and Don Smith Painting, with over 50 years of service, as a sales manager.
He was a United States Army veteran stationed in Germany during the Vietnam War era.
Petie loved bowling in his early days, vacationing with family, especially trips to South Carolina for NASCAR races.
Visitation: 4 – 7 pm Thursday, February 9, 2023 at Staab Funeral Home – Springfield.
Funeral Service: 10:00 am, Friday, February 10, 2023 at Staab Funeral Home – Springfield with Rev. Mark Gifford officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Ridge Cemetery where military honors will be conducted.
