Stephen J. Schneller

Stephen J. Schneller, 73, of Springfield, passed away on Wednesday, December 22, 2021 at Springfield Memorial Hospital.  He was born March 22, 1948 in Springfield, to John F. “Turk” and Marcella VanMeter Schneller.  He married Carol C. Crisp on March 20, 1965 and she preceded him in death on December 17, 2019.

Survivors include one daughter, Darcy Baker of Springfield; two sons, Dave (Kristie) Schneller and Johnny (Stephanie Fulton) Schneller both of Springfield; eight grandchildren, Nina Schneller, Addison Schneller, Milo & Neko Baker, Alyssa Swenny, Maria Davis, Brittany Davis and David Osborn; two great grandchildren, Khloe Post and Delilah Tallman; one brother, John (Kathy) Schneller of Springfield and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife and favorite son-in-law, David Baker.

Stephen was a US Army Veteran.  He coached high school baseball and football.  He enjoyed gardening and yard work.  His family was everything to him and especially enjoyed the grandkids.

He worked for GROWMARK, Inc. in many capacities, including Plant Manager.  He later became an Executive with the company.

Private services will be held, with burial at Camp Butler National Cemetery.
